Original Character Application
My name is blackfireace and I am 17 years old. I want to join this site because I am interested in role playing and I love Hetalia. I have been roleplaying for (this is actually my first time role playing) and I normally post between the 150-300 word mark. Here is my application:
Full Character Name: Diego Guadalupe Cortez
Representing Country: Mexico
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Religion: Roman Catholic
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Status: Single
Occupation: A swordsman and sharpshooter. During the Mexican Revolution he worked under the famous Mexican war hero Pancho Villa. He always carries his golden Spanish sword, rifle with bayonet, bullet belts, and a pistol or two. He is always loyal to his leaders and his country.
Strengths: Dedication. When Diego makes a promise, he will keep it and never break it. Diego always puts his country before himself as well.
Physically Strong. From being trained by the Spanish Armada since he was five to fighting in the Mexican revolution with Pancho Villa at the age of 18; Diego has the blood of a hero running through his veins. He is the greatest captain known throughout the entire country of Mexico.
Always Happy. Diego is optimistic and is a cheerful guy. Though he does seem pretty scary carrying around his weapons with him, he is kind hearted and fun to be with. He loves to make new friends as well.
Weaknesses: Women. Diego is a huge sucker for girls. If he were to get into a good conversation with one of his friends and he sees a girl walk by, he would immediately chase after her… how rude.
Big Ego and Envy. Sometimes Diego can get a little jealous of people that have a bigger ego than him (like Prussia for example). He would always babble a lot about his battles and other “interesting” things about him and his country that would make him seem cool, but in the end just about every country doesn’t seem to care about his “awesome” stories.
Alcohol. Especially when served Tequila, Diego may be forced to spill out his darkest secrets and can get pretty violent and emotional.
Tardy. When it comes to an important meeting or get together, Diego is always late. It is a Mexican stereotype that seems to be very true especially when it comes to a wedding.
Personality: Diego loves Tamales! He always brings a dozen to Alfred (America) because all Diego wants is to become friends with him. Alfred however gets a little annoyed that Diego is always sneaking into his house.
Diego also loves women. He is very respectful when it comes to a woman’s heart. If he were to hear a woman cry or get humiliated by a man, Diego will never forgive this man and may even challenge him to a duel.
Diego also likes to pop out of random places at the most random times. (Ex: Romano and Germany are in a fight, as the argument gets to its climax, Mexico will pop out of a bush and offer pan dulce (sweet bread).)
Backstory: Diego was founded by Spain during his first visit to the New World in search of gold. Diego was an infant prince of the Aztec Empire and was taken away to be nurtured by Spain. Diego learned the Spanish language and became Roman Catholic believing in the savior Jesus Christ and the virgin Mary (Guadalupe) and has forgotten his Aztec culture and language. When Diego turned 5 he took an interest into the Spanish fighting style and has been in the Spanish Armada until he grew up to around the age of 14 and moved back to Mexico.
During his time in Mexico, Diego searched through the Aztec ruins of Mexico and realized who he was. Being angry at Spain, a huge battle took place rebelling against the Spanish government. As Diego was loosing the revolution, the Virgin Guadalupe appeared to him and promised that from now on the country of Mexico is now blessed and protected. After a week of her appearance the Spanish Empire had fallen and Mexico won the Revolution. In the Virgin’s honor, Diego added Guadalupe as his middle name.
Later, America has been expanding and wanted more land and so moved into Mexican Territory. Mexico was fine with America expanding as long as he followed Mexico’s laws. America however didn’t agree to Mexico’s terms and then started the Mexican American war. In the end Diego didn’t want any more of his people to get hurt and so he signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo recognizing the Rio Grande as the border between America and Mexico.
Years later the Mexican Revolution kicked in and the people didn’t like their new leader because his government policies were not recognized by the people. Diego took the side of justice and worked under the great revolutionary Pancho Villa. Diego became inspired by Pancho Villa and his partner Emiliano Zapata. Zapata said the words that changed Diego’s life forever “It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees”. In the end Pancho Villa won the revolution and as a gift he gave Diego his bullet belts just before he died. Diego has always worn them ever since.
Sample Post: It was a nice autumn day as Diego was basking in the hot Aztec sun of his ancestors. Diego is feeling lonely and wants to celebrate this beautiful day and his birthday with a friend. So Diego decides to give America a visit…
“Yo America! Do you want to go for a swim in the carabean?” asked Diego.
“Get out of my house!” Alfred yells
“But I brought Tamales!”
“Oh thank you!” *takes tamales and starts chewing* “Sorry Mexico, but I have a lot of work to do, how about another day?” *mouth full of tamales*
“Ok….” *feeling a little sad*
Diego now decided to visit Canada
“Canada! Are you home?” *all Diego sees is a polar bear* “Well I guess not…” *Diego leaves Canada’s house*
“Wait I’m right here!!!” screams Canada, too bad that Diego thought that that was just the sound of the wind blowing through his ear.
Diego goes to visit Germany and Italy
“Hola Germany and Italy!” said Diego
“AHHHHHHHHHHHH!” yells Italy being surprised
“Oh Hello Mexico” replied Germany
“I was wondering if you and Italy wanted to visit my country because we are going to celebrate this beautiful day!” said Diego
“I would love that!” said Italy.
“But too bad that we are busy” Germany interrupted.
“Oh yeah that’s right! Germany and I still have to finish making your gif-- ouch!” Italy was hit in the head by Germany.
“Sorry Mexico maybe next time…”
After talking to just about every country in the world… Diego heads back to his house and is about to bake a cake for himself and celebrate his birthday by himself until he herd a knock at the door.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEXICO!” yelled America, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, China, Greece, Turkey, Russia, Liechtenstein, Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, France, England etc.
